We spent an hour today with Brooke Shields, the actress, model and author who many call the “face of the 1980s,” and, one of the most beautiful women in the world.

The interview ranged from life with her mother, an alcoholic, to how we treat young women today. (And yes, a bit about Miley Cyrus and twerking).

Two highlights:

Shields opened up about what it was like, as an 11-year-old, to play the role of a 12-year-old prostitute in 1978’s “Pretty Baby.”

She also talked about struggles she faces raising two daughters of her own in a society obsessed with “the need to be seen.”
