A growing number of people are experimenting with “writing therapy” — using journals, poetry, and other forms of expression to ease symptoms of both mental and physical disorders. A recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association shows measurable improvement in asthma and arthritis patients who engaged in writing exercises.
