William Styron is the author of award-winning novels like “Sophie’s Choice” and “The Confessions of Nat Turner,” but he’s almost as well-known for “Darkness Visible,” a memoir of his ordeal with severe depression. He talks with Diane about the experience, and how it has affected his life and his work. (Styron’s books are published in paperback by Vintage.)
