In 1970, facing the possibility of being sent to Vietnam, 23-year-old Jack Todd deserted from the U.S. Army and moved to Canada. He eventually gave up his American citizenship. In a new memoir, he explains his actions of more than 30 years ago, and talks about how, despite some regrets, he remains sure he made the right decision.
