When Martha Tod Dudman’s daughter Augusta was 11 years old, she became angry and withdrawn, and in the years that followed she began lying, stealing, and experimenting with drugs. Augusta, Gone is the title of Dudman’s account of living through her daughter’s troubled adolescence.
