On December 25th, 1991 Mikhail Gorbachev resigned as president of the Soviet Union. With the stroke of a pen the totalitarian regime founded by Lenin and enforced by Stalin came to an end. In a new book, award winning journalist and writer Conor O’Clery offers a minute by minute account of this dramatic day.
